Our youngest guest yet. Bob chats one on one with Molly Yeh, percussionist and food blogger for the website, mynameisyeh.com. We begin with Bob heaping praise on Molly for writing a food blog free of snark, pretense and idol worship. Then, he begins to wonder if a similar blogging presence among classical music lovers, as opposed to classical musicians and critics, can help generate some of the excitement that food blogging has done for the food world. They then discuss Molly the percussionist. Even at such an early point in her career as a musician, Molly has forged strong and genuine relationships with many of today’s composers. They begin discussing the composers she admires, many of whom are new to Bob:
Nico Muhly, Osvaldo Golijov, Philip Glass, John Adams, Corey Dargel, Matt Marks, Steve Feigenbaum, Chris Thompson and George Crumb.
The conversation goes freely between music and food. So much so that a part two is needed to capture all of it.
